LKOC bids a fond farewell to dear Joan Fleming, one of our most remarkable leaders and supporters over the past 45 years. She lived a long and happy life that was dedicated to her family, her watercolor painting, and many, many community projects. Think of her when you see the trees in the medians as you drive into Kailua or down Mokapu Boulevard. The work she did with the Lani-Kailua Outdoor Circle has made our town clean, green, and beautiful and this will be her lasting legacy. A Hui Hou Joan.

Winifred Bennett was a landscape and seascape artist and long-time member of LKOC, serving on our Board of Directors for many years. She worked as a volunteer in our LTG Program at WCCC, mentoring and nurturing the students there. She will be greatly missed by all her knew her, and were buoyed by her unfailing kindness and sense of humor.

We remember Jane Morris as a joyful, helpful, generous fighter for important causes. She sat on the Board of LKOC for years. In addition to her Public Affairs efforts, she hosted many annual meetings in her lovely home and garden. She was extremely supportive of our LKOC “Learning to Grow” Program at WCCC, where her kindness and cheerfulness made her loved by all. |
Aloha to dear Betty Lou Arnold Nobriga, a role model of goodness, who has left us with a legacy of love and dedication to helping others on their rehabilitation path. Alongside other LKOC volunteer friends working in support of the WCCC “Learning To Grow” program, Betty Lou’s love of gardening and kindness toward people was ever present in her continuous smile, heartwarming positive attitude and gracious spirit.
